If you, your family or friends need to complete living wills, etc., need help dealing with a serious or terminal illness, need information about how to take care of someone, need help coping with the death of a loved one, or need help with any of the other issues mentioned previously, call Hospice as soon as possible. The sooner Hospice can get involved, the greater the impact that can be made. The Hospice phone number is 245-0095 or 1-800-218-CARE (2273). We will make every attempt to help you, and if we can’t, we’ll try to find someone who can.

Many people have asked what they can do to assist Hospice. Listed below are some of the ways you may decide to help:

  • Ask your church to put Hospice in their budget.
  • Become a Hospice Faith in Action representative.
  • Commit to a naming opportunity at Hospice such as an engraved brick or a leaf on the Tree of Life.
  • Designate memorials: Request memorials be given to Hospice when a loved one dies rather than flowers.
  • Designate United Way contributions.
  • Donate items to the Hospice pantry such as Ensure, antibacterial soap, paper products, etc. Hospice has an ongoing “Wish List” of patient needs.
  • Donate items to the Hospice Resale Shop, and shop there, as well.
  • Participate in special events and fundraisers such as the Membership Drive and Festival of Trees.
  • Request a Hospice speaker for your church or civic organization.
  • Think about estate planning or other forms of charitable giving.
  • Volunteer or get your church or other group involved in volunteering with Hospice.

All donations to Hospice are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. For more information about how you can help, give Hospice a call today!
