The Hospice team, including a nurse, certified nursing assistant, social worker, trained volunteer, chaplain, bereavement coordinator and medical director develops a plan of care (physical, emotional and spiritual) for the patient and provides instruction and support to the caregiver. The caregiver can be a spouse, other family member or friend who assumes the day-to-day responsibility for the patient’s care.

Volunteers with Hospice of Rutherford County are very special people. By being part of the Hospice team, volunteers enable people with a life expectancy to continue to live life to the fullest.

Hospice Volunteers
Volunteers touch the hearts of patients and families, provide assistance with special events and enable Hospice to operate smoothly. In fact, 51% of Hospice administrative duties are provided by volunteers. Without volunteers, Hospice would not have the ability to provide quality patient care.
